We are looking for three people to fulfill three volunteer positions in the Multimedia Ministry. Requirements are provided below:
Internship Description: The Communications Department at New Bethel Baptist Church (NBBC) is seeking undergraduate students or recent graduates in Mass Communications or related fields to be Multimedia Volunteers for the Fall 2017 semester and onwards. Ideally, the candidate(s) will be available for a minimum of 15 hours per week for three months - timing can be flexible. Internships are unpaid. Students may be able to arrange academic credit, and should check with their individual academic institutions for requirements.
Responsibilities: The multimedia intern will organize, transcribe, script, and edit videos, take photos, and create multimedia content documenting and promoting New Bethel Baptist Church programs. In addition, the multimedia intern will shoot original footage and photos during worship services, staff and participant interviews, program activities, special events, and other projects as needed. In some cases, the multimedia intern will work with a preexisting archive of video footage and photographs gathered over the past year, so the candidate must be comfortable creating professional, compelling narratives using video from stylistically distinct shooters. The multimedia intern will focus on creating short, socially optimized videos and multimedia content capturing the essence of New Bethel’s programs and events that promote our core values. While not required, candidates with experience with video marketing and SEO may advise the communications team on how best to distribute and promote the content that the video intern creates.
Applicants should be well-organized, self-motivated and reliable. Ideal candidates would have a strong interest in journalism, video production and photography. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, and some knowledge or experience using video production tools.
